COLORADO

Spending time in Colorado is the ultimate in fitness motivation. Everyone here devotes time to being active and healthy each day. It is an active and outdoor state--no wonder they have been named the least obese state in the U. S.
Our visit has included many activities that give us daily workouts. It's hot so mornings and evenings are best here as is the case back home. Less humidity is a blessing.
I enjoy the walking we have been doing and occasionally the urge to run takes over. Two miles in this scenery is a treat.
A little golf added in is frosting on the cake.

MILE HIGH & CLIMBING

The lifestyle is geared to being fit and healthy out here in Colorado so there are really no excuses for not taking advantage of the great paths, trails, and facilities. It is unusually humid so this morning my jaunt was more like back home. SWEATY!!

GET INSPIRED

On Wednesday & Thursday I visited the current F4F Group at their workout sessions. It was contagious inspiration. The group effort is the way to go in order to make the most progress. Hope that my visit was of help to them--it got me inspired to push myself to re-attain my goals.

INDOOR WORKOUTS--BETTER THAN NOTHING

During the past two weeks I've kept up with Fitness Center workouts about three times a week. Today the weather is sunny and deceptive. You want to get out in it until you step out and then you want to step right back indoors. The debate today is how long to continue paying to work out indoors. Last March I braved the elements and did my early training for the Fort4Fitness on the nearby roads. I don't find that as attractive today.
The important thing I guess is to keep doing something and I think that after a few warmer days I will strike out in the out of doors and still utilize the indoor equipment when things aren't too nice. At least for the next month or so. I need to get out of my 2 mile rut and go for some longer mileage. I think that will be more easily accomplished when I get back on the roads and trails.

BACK TO OHIO

Our winter journey to warmer weather has ended and we are back in Ohio. From the standpoint of enjoying family, friends, and fun, it was top notch. Keeping up a level of fitness was difficult. Diet and distractions saw to that. But we are both happy and healthy and are determined to buckle down and increase our workout activity and decrease our caloric intake.
I'm considering signing up for the "Mastodon Stomp" which should be coming up soon. I recall it was last spring shortly after I began training for the F4F that we went to see what a 5K was actually like. In the meantime we will keep working out at the fitness center and I do some 5K jaunts on the treadmill.

AM I KEEPING UP ?

Not very well on this blog. Somewhat on the running. As the winter months creep by I have worked out at the fitness center, did some walking in Colorado as we visited there through the holidays, and I've walked a mile or two since we arrived in Florida. Not too ambitiously though.

There is really no excuse as the weather and free time are certainly not a hinderance. Enjoying life here in Florida for a few weeks.

USING DIFFERENT MUSCLES

This past Monday I walked and ran for an hour. That went o.k. Wednesday I decided to only walk a mile and then do a lot of different lifting, twisting, bending, crunching, on the various resistance machines. None are set up with a lot of weight and some are adjustable so you can find a comfortable zone. I also did a few things on the exercise ball. I hurt a little today so I guess I accomplished something.
Tomorrow we'll go for our Friday session and I'll see what I feel like doing when I get there. Spent 7 hours walking around department stores and malls today. Should have worn a pedometer just to see how far that took me.
